Hannibal, MO —

Ralph and Mary Griffith are serving as hosts for the POW Mukden Survivors Reunion which begins Wednesday, Oct. 1, and continues through Saturday, Oct. 4, in Hannibal.
The POWs were prisoners of the Japanese for 3 1/2 years during World War II in Mukden, Manchuria.
The POWs and their families went to China in May 2007 to visit the Mukden prison camp where they were imprisoned after being captured in the Philippines on Corregidor Island in 1942.
A model of the original prison camp is on display at the Quality Inn and Suites.
The former POWs will participate in an assembly with social studies students at Hannibal High School Thursday morning.
During the last evening of the reunion a banquet is planned at the Star Theater. An honor guard supplied by the American Legion will be on hand.
