Halpin receives health scholarship

Hannibal Clinic Health Services recently honored Jennifer Halpin of Hannibal as the winner of its annual scholarship contest.
“Jennifer was chosen for this scholarship award because of her outstanding academic work, aptitude and determination to succeed,” said Dr. Sandra Ahlum, Hannibal Clinic Health Services Chairperson.  “Jennifer is a person of admirable character and we are proud to award this scholarship to her. The mission of Hannibal Clinic Health Services is to promote healthy lifestyles for the people of our community and provide support for those individuals experiencing illness and we feel that awarding scholarships like these will help put young people of good character and determination into the healthcare field to continue the long-standing medical tradition in this area.”
Jennifer is the daughter of Dr. Stephen and Joni Halpin of Hannibal. She plans to attend Truman State University in the fall and major in chemistry and biology and ultimately, become a physician.
