Juhani Hakule, professor at North Karelia College in Niittylahti, Finland, visited Hannibal-LaGrange College on Thursday, Oct. 23, as a part of his first visit to the United States to gain a greater understanding of American culture and the educational system. Dr. Randall Egdorf, assistant professor of social/behavioral sciences and chair of the professional development committee of faculty senate at John Wood Community College, participates in a two-week teacher exchange program through the Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs. Hakule was a visitor as a result of this program, and in exchange Dr. Egdorf will visit Finland next year. While visiting HLG, Hakule participated in a brief reception with various members of administration, department chairs and faculty. He also received a campus tour.
