National Hospital Week is intended to cast the spotlight on care providers who touch the lives of patients every day. On Tuesday morning the impact that care providers at Hannibal Regional Hospital have had was cited as a reason that an estate gift of over $1 million was left to the hospital by William and Patsy Cary.
“Today our foundation is honored and humbled to accept a very generous estate gift from William and Patsy Cary,” said Wendy Harrington, president and CEO of the Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation. “This gift, valued at over $1 million, is testament to their generosity and kindness. It is also testament to the care you provide. It was the care you provided the Cary family that gave them the trust and respect in our organization to offer this so generous gift.”
“Those of you who were directly involved with her (Patsy Cary), I know you went extra. I know there’s something special there. That feeling of family ... that feeling that you really care and your affection just really goes way beyond your job. It’s kind of what we’re about. I’m very proud of this organization because of that,” Dr. Curtis Burton, chairman of the foundation.
