Teen injured when vehicle hits deer

Lincoln County, MO —

A Troy teen-ager suffered minor injuries when the vehicle he was riding in struck a deer in Lincoln County Thursday evening.
The accident happened at 6:30 p.m. on Route J, one mile south of Zoar Church Road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the mishap happened when a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by 45-year-old Michelle Mooney of Troy struck a deer and then ran off the roadway.
Injured was 14-year-old Jonathon Mooney, who was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident. He was taken by Lincoln County Ambulance to St. Joseph West.
