Marion County Health Department begins search for new director

The Marion County Health Department has begun the process of hiring a new administrator.
The board held interviews Friday. A final decision could take several months.
The person selected will replace Joan Hynek, who resigned last month to take the executive director job at the Salt River Community Health Center in Hannibal.
Betty Nickell, who retired from the health department in January 2004 after 28 years, is serving as the interim director until a successor is named.
