Cherity Green, Hannibal Wal-Mart manager, presents a check for $1,200 to Dave Dexheimer, executive director of Douglass Community Services, while Conservation agent Matt Markley and Steve St Clair from the Marion County Health Department look on. The funds will be used as part of "Share The Harvest," a program which helps pay the cost of processing deer donated to the program. Pooled with additional dollars from the Conservation Federation of Missouri and other organizations such as Douglass and Mississippi Valley Bow Hunters, the fund covers full processing of more than 100 deer in Marion and Ralls counties. The meat is then donated to local food banks and distributed to families. Last year around 10,000 pounds of venison was collected in the two counties. Anyone who wishes to contribute to the fund may contact Douglass Community Services at 711 Grand Ave. in Hannibal. Call Dave at (573) 221-3892. CONTRIBUTED
