HHS recognizes October students

Each month the faculty of Hannibal High School nominates and votes on nominated students to be “Students of the Month.”  One student from each grade level is chosen by the faculty.  These students must meet the following criteria: students must strive to do their best in all classes, must follow school rules and regulations, and show concern for others.  The following students have been chosen as October Students of the Month during the 2008/2009 school year:
Freshman Student of the Month is Cassidy Trenhaile, daughter of Randy and Kathleen Trenhaile. Cassidy is a member of the high school Pirate Pride Marching and Concert Band, Student Council, Natural Helpers and the Clover road Christian Church and youth group.  Cassidy participates on the high school volleyball team during the fall sports season, basketball during the winter sports season, and track during the spring. Cassidy received several awards while attending the Hannibal Middle School which includes, 8th grade Student of the Month, Physical Education Student of the Month, Mathalete, Honor Roll, and Perfect Attendance Award.  Cassidy is presently on the 2008/2009 1st quarter “A” Honor Roll.
Sophomore Student of the Month is Vincent Kelley, son of Brian Kelley and Lianne Franks. Vincent is a member of the Southside Baptist Church and youth group.  Vincent enjoys hanging out with his family and friends.  Vincent is presently on the 2008/2009 1st quarter “B” Honor Roll.
Erica Miller is the Junior Student of the Month.  Erica is the daughter of Sam and Karen Miller.  Erica is a member of FBLA (future Business Leaders of America) at the Hannibal Career/Technical Center and Clover Road Christian Church.  Erica is a 2008/2009 cheerleader, participating on the varsity football squad and the wrestling squad.  Erica is a member of the National Honor Society.  Erica is presently on the 1st Quarter “B” Honor Roll.
Austin Wood is the Senior Student of the Month. Austin is the son of Shelia and the late Rodney Wood. Austin is a member of the 2008/2009 Student Council, Pirate Log Yearbook photo editor and a former member of Natural Helpers.  Austin has participated on the high school track and field team the previous three years.  Austin is presently on the “A” Honor Roll for the 1st quarter.
