James Meehan, M.D., and Gary Gillham, D.O., have joined the Hannibal Regional Medical Group- Vision Institute.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Dr. Meehan received his medical degree from the University Of Oklahoma College Of Medicine. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Oklahoma University College of Medicine and a residency in Ophthalmology at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
Dr. Gillham received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Ill., and a residency in Ophthalmology at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Mich.

Meehan and Gillham as members of the team,” said Dr. Richard Draper, medical director-Hannibal Regional Medical Group. “Their skills and dedication further demonstrate Hannibal Regional Medical Group’s commitment to the community. The provision of an exceptionally high level of ophthalmologic care to our hometown will be further enhanced by their decisions to live in Hannibal.”
The newly formed Hannibal Regional Medical Group Vision Institute, scheduled to open October 2008, will be located within the Shinn Lane Medical Building on the hospital campus. The Vision Institute will offer full-service comprehensive eye care, with emphasis on diabetic and glaucoma management, ocular inflammation, and cataract surgery. Services will include comprehensive adult and children’s eye exams, medical and surgical treatment of the cornea and eye lids and laser refractive vision correction. In addition, Kent Wolber, O.D. will be relocating his optometry practice from 413 Broadway to join Dr. Meehan and Dr. Gillham in providing eye care to patients.
