Angel Food adds allergen-free box

The monthly Angel Food Ministries program - which offers boxes of food prepared to feed a family of four for a week - has been expanded to offer a box of allergen-free food.
Another box is for senior adults or others who want individual prepared meals.
Also, for the people who order one or more of these three boxes, six special offers are available.
The March Angel Food orders will be taken from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14, at Hannibal Free Will Baptist Church, 4116 Highway MM. The distribution will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28.
The regular box costs $30, the senior box $28 and the allergen-free box $25. Angel Food Ministries orders are paid with cash or food stamps (EBT), but no personal checks. 
The allergen-free box is for people of all ages. It is processed to eliminate the eight top serious allergens: peanuts, soybeans, milk, eggs, fish, crustacea, tree nuts and gluten (wheat, rye and barley). It is composed of one pound each of coated chicken tenders, coated breast filet, coated chicken nuggets, coated chicken wings and coated cubed steak (chicken fried steak).
Meats in this month’s regular box include ribeye steaks, chicken, steak patties, ground beef, meatballs, Italian sausage and ham. The March senior box has 10 different meals with meat and vegetables.
The special offers range in price from $18 to $22. Four are varieties of meats. One is an Easter Sunday dinner box, with three meat dishes, and another box is an Easter Sunday dinner side box including vegetables, cornbread stuffing and dessert.
One special offer is a fresh fruit and veggie box. It has fresh vegetables and fruit, including potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions, garlic, a cantaloupe, oranges, tangerines, two brands of apples and a mango.
