A lot of fun and family entertainment are right around the corner with the Hannibal Jaycees’ upcoming 61st Annual National Tom Sawyer Days celebration, June 30-July 7 in historic downtown Hannibal.

A lot of fun and family entertainment are right around the corner with the Hannibal Jaycees’ upcoming 61st Annual National Tom Sawyer Days celebration, June 30-July 7 in historic downtown Hannibal.

The festivities kick off Saturday, June 30 with the carnival opening at Main and Lyon Streets, across from Tanyard Gardens. It will be packed with everyone’s favorite rides again this year, plus a few new ones.

The main events will begin Tuesday, July 3. From the Y Men’s Club’s mud volleyball tournaments to the Kiwanis Arts & Crafts Show, the annual Tom & Becky Contest to the National Fence Painting Contest and much more, National Tom Sawyer Days is filled with events the entire family will enjoy.

The Hannibal Jaycees’ National Tom Sawyer Days, which has been listed as one of the “Top 100 Events in North America,” draws more than 100,000 visitors from all over the world each year.

Saturday, June 30

8 a.m. Baby Contest presented by Barbara Stewart — Admiral Coontz Recreation Center

9 a.m.  Horseshoe Tournament Qualifying presented by Hannibal POPS Club — Ringer Park

10 a.m.  Cornhole Tournament presented by Hannibal Jaycees/Them Guys Cornhole — Tanyard Gardens

2 p.m.  Carnival Grand Opening

5:30 p.m.   Gates open at Tanyard Gardens — National Recording Artist “Dylan Scott” with special guest “Feudin’ Hillbillys”

 

Sunday, July 1

10 a.m.  Horseshoe Tournament presented by Hannibal POPS Club — Ringer Park

2 p.m. Carnival Opens — Family Day ($20 Armbands 3-8pm)
