John Wingate spent years researching the disappearance of Billy Hoag, Joel Hoag, and Craig Dowell somewhere in caves beneath Hannibal.

John Wingate, the author of “Lost Boys of Hannibal”, will hold a book signing and talk at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 10 at the Mark Twain Museum Gallery auditorium, 120 N. Main St. Hannibal. The event is free to the public.

Wingate spent years researching the disappearance of Billy Hoag, Joel Hoag, and Craig Dowell somewhere in caves beneath Hannibal. Interviewing family members and rescue personnel, he published his definitive history of the incident last year.

The book is available for purchase at the museum’s gift shop.
