The 55 member group will sing a varied program of accompanied and a cappella sacred and secular favorites.

The Monroe City Singers will present their Annual Christmas Concert, "Comin' Up Christmas Time!", on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. in the United Methodist Church at 218 Catherine Street in Monroe City.  The 55 member group will sing a varied program of accompanied and a cappella sacred and secular favorites. 

Sacred favorites included in the choral program are "O Holy Night ," "The First Noel," and "Go Tell it on the Mountain."

Among the secular tunes are "Sleigh Ride," "Blue Christmas," "Holly Jolly Christmas," "Jolly Old St. Nick," "Somewhere in My Memory," and "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town."

The 13-member Instrumental Jazz Ensemble, which has become a favorite on recent concerts, will perform "Deckin' the Halls" and "Swingle All the Way." 

The Singers are comprised of members from 14 area towns and rehearse weekly under the direction of Todd Richman.  Accompanists for the group are Marsha Crowley, Lana Anderson and Colby Schulz. 

There is no charge for admission, however donations will be accepted to help defray expenses.
