The VISION Awards recognize those that demonstrate an extraordinary spirit of forward-thinking philanthropy throughout the Community Foundation’s 12-county service area.

In honor of its 20th anniversary, the Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri will honor six individuals, families, businesses and organizations that were instrumental in its inception and continued success with the inaugural VISION Awards. The VISION Awards will be presented during the Community Foundation’s Roaring 20th Gala on November 4 at Town and Country Inn & Suites in Quincy.

The VISION Awards recognize those that demonstrate an extraordinary spirit of forward-thinking philanthropy throughout the Community Foundation’s 12-county service area. Recipients are committed to positive, long-term change in our communities and have contributed to advancing the Community Foundation’s mission through time, talent or treasure.

Recipients of the 2017 VISION Awards include Great River Economic Development Foundation, Marion Gardner Jackson Charitable Trust, Mercantile Bank, the late William Myers of the Elkhart (Indiana) Community Foundation, Thomas A. and Anne M. Oakley, and the Oakley-Lindsay Foundation of Quincy Media, Inc.

The honorees are members of the Community Foundation’s Founder’s Circle. Their vision and action created the Community Foundation on November 26, 1997.

“For our inaugural VISION Awards on our 20th anniversary, it only makes sense for us to recognize those who planted strong roots for our Community Foundation,” said Bill McCleery, Jr., Community Foundation Board Chair.

The awards will be presented during the Community Foundation’s Roaring 20th Gala on Nov. 4. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at Town & Country Inn and Suites and will include cocktails with hors d‘oeuvres, dinner, and dancing with entertainment by The Matt McCallie Orchestra.

The public is invited to celebrate and honor the VISION Award recipients. Tickets for the gala are $75 each. Tables for eight may be reserved for $600 and tables of 10 for $750. For reservations, please call 217-222-1237.
