The Hannibal Arts Council will host a Community Poetry Reading at 1 p m. on Saturday, March 4.  Local poets, writers and spoken word artists are invited to showcase their works and words. The event is free and open to the public. 

The reading is part of the First Annual Hip-Hop and Poetry Festival, a new community event focused on, as the title states, hip-hop and poetry.  The main event will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, March 4 at Finn’s Food & Spirits in Downtown Hannibal. It will feature performances by Steven Cooper, Deezy Da Paperboy and Crazy J, among others.

The evening event is $10 at the door and is a 21 and older event.
