Archie Hayden will share stories and personal insights from Hannibal’s railroad history at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Mark Twain Museum, 120 North Main St., Hannibal.
Hayden recently retired from a 40-year career with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He left as a brakeman and conductor. In addition, Hayden has assembled a large collection of railroad memorabilia. He will draw from his large holding of photographs, maps, timetables and books for this program.
The program will begin with the first meeting of the Hannibal & St. Joseph Railroad in John Marshall Clemens’ office and progress through the end of the steam locomotives in 1954.
Refreshments will be served. Reservations needed by noon, Feb. 18. Members free, $5 for non-members.
