80’s on the 8th planned at HLG

The Hannibal-LaGrange College graduating classes from the 1980s are invited to join their classmates for a picnic on the HLG Patio on Aug. 8. Alumni from all classes are invited to celebrate with the 80’s graduates.
The “Eighties on the Eighth” event is designed to reconnect alumni and their families for an afternoon of fun and activities. HLG graduates from the late 70s and 80s plan to meet at the HLG Patio (adjacent to the Partee Center) for a free picnic lunch, music, campus tours, games, and giveaways. The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. and plan to wind down between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
“Many of our alumni have not been back to the HLG campus in several years and we want to reacquaint them with their alma mater,” said Connie Ketsenburg, director of development at HLG and coordinator of the event. “We want to provide an opportunity for our alumni to reconnect with college friends and see all of the wonderful changes on the HLG campus.”
The HLG Patio, commissioned for service in the fall 2008 semester, will serve as the general meeting area for the event. The patio has two professional grade portable grills, 16 tables (each seats eight adults), fire pits, planters, and beautiful fencing and landscaping. “The site is perfect for an afternoon of relaxation and fellowship,” said Ketsenburg.
