PHILADELPHIA - An update on summer school was provided members of the Marion County R-II Board of Education during their June meeting.
Summer school in the district began June 2 and concluded June 27. Summer school was available to students in grades K-8. Classes were offered in math, English, science, economics, computers, social studies, and physical education. Additional instruction was provided through the reading teacher as well as special education.
In other business:
• Principal Eric Spratt was appointed district safety coordinator.
• Superintendent Dianna Hoenes was appointed district transportation director.
• Health insurance plans for the upcoming school year were reviewed, but no board action was taken.
• Approval was given the district’s CSIP revisions.
• Approval was given a payment of $50 or one personal day to those employees who successfully complete their Wellness Incentive Program for the year.
• Hoenes provided the board with a preliminary budget for review.
