Is another after-school shuttle needed for students of the Shelby County R-IV School District? It was a point of discussion during Thursday night’s meeting of the board of education.

In another transportation-related item, the board discussed the length of bus routes and their efficiency.
In other business:
• Approval was given an audit of the school district for the 2007-08 school year.
• A bid from Peters for extended return duct work at the middle school was accepted. The value of the bid was $6,770.
• Approval was given Shelbina Elementary’s School Improvement Plan and the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan revisions.
• Brenda Leatherman was selected to be the Shelby County R-IV MSBA delegate at the October conference.
• The possibility of holding an Outdoor Leadership Experience for school staff was mentioned.
• President Rick Maupin thanked the Clarence Civic Club for its donation to the sidewalk project. Shawn Dandoy was cited for his hard work regarding the project.
