Sometimes “thank yous” are few and far between for those involved in public service. During Monday’s meeting of the Monroe City R-1 Board of Education, Superintendent Jim Masters shared a thank you note in behalf of Barb Carson for the Fun and Gifted Education REACH Conference that took place on Nov. 1.
In other business:
• The school board presented students with the MAP awards.
• Masters presented the board with the facility improvements updates.
• A motion was approved to continue with the Committee for Education Equity.
• Approval was given the Annual Performance Report Review.
• Principal Chris Redmon updated the board on the delinquent lunch account procedures for the high school students.
• The Florida schoolhouse property item was tabled pending further investigation.
• The board scheduled its next regular meeting for 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8.
• In a personnel matter the board accepted the resignation of Angela Peters as cheerleader sponsor, effective immediately.
