Illness forces Canton schools to close

Canton R-5 schools will be closed Wednesday through Friday due to illness.
Superintendent David Tramel said about 20 percent of the district’s 535 students were absent Tuesday.
Only one school day will have to be made up because classes were already scheduled to be dismissed Thursday afternoon with no school Friday for parent-teacher conferences.
Clark County R-1 at Kahoka and Scotland County R-1 at Memphis previously have closed due to flu.
