Culver-Stockton College has named Stacy Schwenke as director of student success. Schwenke will coordinate the college’s programs geared to help students to succeed and complete their degree.
“This position is an essential component of our enrollment management philosophy, which emphasizes both recruitment and retention,” said William L. Fox, college president. “I share the excitement of both our dean and vice president of enrollment management that we have found someone who will continue to build our student success programs, which only started a year ago but which are already starting to achieve our goals.”
Schwenke, who will begin her C-SC duties in early July, comes to Culver-Stockton from Evergreen State College, Olympia, Wash., where she is director of the KEY Student Support Services.
“We are delighted to have Stacy join us to revitalize current programs and develop new student retention initiatives, including our First-Year Experience Course that begins this fall,” said Wendy Powers, dean of student life. “She brings a wealth of experience, professionalism, and student success ideas, and I have no doubt she will be a tremendous asset to Culver-Stockton College.”
Schwenke earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in geography and a bachelor’s of science degree in mathematics from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and a master of arts in education, educational administration, from Northern Michigan University, Marquette, MI.
“I am thrilled to join the Student Life staff at Culver-Stockton,” Schwenke said. “The innovative EXP@CSC curriculum is a compelling vehicle for preparing 21st century students, and I look forward to being part of it. I am passionate about working with student success programs and will work to employ my energy and experience to the benefit of student achievement at C-SC.”
