New Dollar General stores are being built in Hannibal and New London.
Ground work is under way for the new Hannibal store at 4044 Market. A timetable for completion has not been set, but the store will have about 9,000 square feet and employ six to 10 people.
The current Hannibal store at 216 Huck Finn Shopping Center will remain open.
Meanwhile, work continues on the new Dollar General in New London.
The 9,100-square-foot facility will be along the north side of Business Route A just east of the Abel’s Quik Shop and Ruba’s General Store at U.S. 61.
Plans call for it to open in late August and employ six to 10 people.
