Weather permitting, on Friday, Nov. 20, the Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor should open the Spencer Creek Bridge on Route P to traffic if working conditions remain favorable.
The bridge closed for rehabilitation on September 22 under MoDOT’s Safe and Sound Bridge Program. The Safe and Sound Bridge program will repair or replace 802 bridges throughout the state, beginning in 2009. The bridge will be open to traffic by the end of the workday on Friday.
The deck on the bridge has been replaced, guardrail has been installed where needed and the weight restriction/load posting has been removed from the bridge. Bleigh Construction Company of Hannibal was the contractor on the project.
