Two transportation projects awarded January 6 at the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission meeting will be completed in Marion County this year.
The resurfacing projects, totaling more than 12 miles, include Route C and Business U.S. 61 in Marion County. Crews will be resurfacing Route C from the Route Z west junction to Route 168 near Palmyra and Business U.S. 61 from just north of Route BB to just north of U.S. 24 and 61 in Palmyra.
G & M Concrete and Asphalt Co., Inc. of Troy were awarded the contract for $626,501.50. Both projects are expected to be complete by this fall, and more details will be released as the contractors’ schedules are finalized. Traffic will be handled on the existing pavement during the resurfacing operations, but will be restricted to one lane. Details about the project will be released to local media prior to construction beginning. The public is urged to use caution during construction.
