Price drove Tracy Aguilar to buy a used car.
Like millions of other Americans, the Vandalia woman decided that saving dollars beat the dependability of a new vehicle.
Aguilar found a deal on a 2001 Nissan Altima, and has been pleased. But she wasn’t so confident at first.
“I was scared about it because I’ve always bought brand new vehicles,” Aguilar said. “With the economy being the way it is, it was better not to have that (new car) payment.”
Aguilar used an auto shopper to find her car, so she was lucky. The economic downturn has led to an increase in demand and a rise in price for used cars. Courier-Post reporter Brent Engel has the full story in Wednesday's print edition.
