The Mark Twain Home Foundation, the Hannibal Arts Council, Hannibal CASA and the Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division would like to present the Hannibal Heart Gallery.
For the fourth year, the Heart Gallery will travel across the state featuring professional photographs of Missouri foster children awaiting adoption. These photos capture the hearts and souls of the children. The Heart Gallery features 238 children in 188 photos. The Children’s Division of the Department of Social Services partners with the Adoption Exchange of Missouri to host the gallery. The gallery concept began in New Mexico several years ago and has spread to several states, as it has proven to be a very successful way to help children and families come together.
The gallery will be at the Mark Twain Museum and the Hannibal Arts Council from July 2 through July 10. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. July 2, at the Mark Twain Museum.
In addition, there will be a reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 2, at the Hannibal Arts Council and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mark Twain Museum. During the Mark Twain Museum reception, Greghri Love will present on his recent memoir, There Is An Urgency, documenting his childhood of intense abuse.
Everyone is encouraged to visit the gallery while it is in town.
