Marion County Historical Society is hosting a fall picnic and bonfire from 2:30 p.m. until dark on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Kilmer historic family farm, northwest of Hannibal on U.S. 61. Go three miles northwest of Hannibal and turn right into the drive on the opposite side of the highway from the turn for Highway W.
Bob Kilmer’s great-great-grandfather settled the farm in the early 1800s. The original log home still stands adjacent to the brick Greek Revival mansion house that was built circa 1850.
Bob Kilmer’s phone number is (573) 221-7231
Marion County Historical Society will provide hotdogs, brats, buns, condiments and soft drinks. Everyone attending is asked to bring a dish to share and cutlery. Paper plates and cups will be provided. There will be straw bales to sit on. See  map on the MCHS Web page, www.hannibalhistoricgroups.com
