Hannibal, MO —

The rain that fell for hours Saturday morning in Hannibal - including all during the Hannibal Cannibal race - ended before the Fourth of July parade began at 10 a.m., and no rain fell during the lengthy parade, which included dancers, a karate group, band, clubs, church groups, businesses and politicians.

No rain fell on the Tom and Becky Pageant at noon in Central Park, although it began afterward and dampened some of the National Tom Sawyer Days events at Clemens Field. By 5 p.m. the rain ended, just in time for the National Fence Painting contest.

Later the one-hour fireworks display began at 9:30 p.m. with the usual thousands of watchers gathered in downtown Hannibal. The low-lying clouds gave the fireworks a foggy appearance.
