The Hannibal Arts Council will offer three special programs during its current exhibit, Hannibal As History: A Photographic Exhibition. The programs spotlight Hannibal history, historic preservation, Hannibal images and the exhibit currently on display.
• Morning with the Preservationists will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, with presenters Scott Meyer and Bob Yapp leading a discussion on historic preservation, historic restoration, the economics of preservation, downtown revitalization and historic neighborhoods.
• Hannibal As History: An Exhibit Tour will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, with presenter Esley Hamilton, preservation historian for the St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation and researcher for the Hannibal As History exhibit.
• Images of Hannibal and Hannibal’s Railroad History will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, with presenters Steve Chou, local historian and photo collector, and Archie Hayden, railroad historian.
Each program offers an opportunity to view the Hannibal As History exhibit, in which Hannibal’s story is told and its spirit reflected in a series of 30 panels, each containing numerous photographs, narratives and sketches depicting the town from its beginnings to the turn of the 20th century.
All three programs are free and open to the public and held at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main St. Gallery hours for this exhibit are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
