One of this year’s first National Tom Sawyer Days events was the Little Misses and Mr. Hannibal Pageant on Saturday at the Hannibal Middle School auditorium.
• Elise White, the daughter of Elaine and Chad White of Hannibal, was crowned Little Miss Hannibal. After the pageant, she reported she was very happy to win, and said when she was interviewed she told the judges, “I like to have fun.”
In the Little Miss Hannibal contest, Mariana Ruedas-Martinez, the daughter of Mario and Jeanene Ruedas-Martinez of Hannibal, was first runner-up. Gillyan Lain, the daughter of Billy and Jonnie Lain of Hannibal, was second runner-up.
• Avery Hirner, the daughter of Julie and Simon Hirner of Monroe City, was crowned Miss Hannibal Pee Wee.
First through fifth runners-up and their parents were, respectively, Abigail Gentry, Julie Darnell and Charles Montgomery of Hannibal; Jasmine Wasson, Phyllis and Ronnie Wasson of Hannibal; Trinity Alvey, Lori Alvey of Hannibal; Samantha Scott, Nicole Scott of Palmyra; and Madalyne Yahne, Nicole and Darrin Yahne of Hannibal.
• Aliyah Wagner, the daughter of Andrea and Joe Wagner of Hannibal, won the Hannibal Little Tot title.
Runners-up and their parents, first through fifth respectively, were McKenzie Smashey, Terrance and Megan Smashey of Hannibal; Alysha Morrell, Amber Hodges and Bobby Morrell; Breesa Pierce, Fred and Rawne Pierce of Monroe City; Alaina White, Elaine and Chad White of Hannibal; and Pilar Camargo, Nicole and Darrin Yahne of Hannibal.
• Kayne Whitley, son of Bobby Whitley and Ryan and Chastity Greving of Hannibal, was crowned Mr. Hannibal.
First through third runners-up and their parents were Cade Chapman, John and Angie Chapman of Monroe City; Caleb Wheeler, Eddie and Sunny Wheeler of Hannibal; and Rusty Ellis, Rusty Ellis and Wendy Todd of Hannibal.
• Xavier Carey was crowned Little Mr. Hannibal. He is the son of Julie Carey and Adam Armstrong of Perry.
First runner-up was Sheltyn Waters, son of Trischia Wilson of Hannibal. Second runner-up was Trenton Brown, son of Renea and Travis Brown of Perry.
The girl winners of these contests will next compete in the state contest in summer of 2010.
Talent contest winners were Brookelyn Livesay, ages 3 and 4; and Peyton Shiveley, ages 5 and 6.
