Three different Pirates score in victory

HANNIBAL, Mo. – Three different players scored as the Hannibal boys soccer team beat Capital City 3-0 Monday night at Veterans Field.

Nathan DeStefane scored the opening goal for the Pirates in the 22nd minute, and Hannibal's Caleb Young doubled the lead with three minutes until halftime.

That score remained until Kayne Whitley scored in the 65th minute to make it 3-0.

Hannibal had 16 shots, and 10 were on net.

Goalkeeper Parker Terrill made two saves.

Palmyra holds on to defeat Centralia, advancing to district finals
PALMYRA, Mo. | The Palmyra boys basketball team will get another shot at Monroe City after winning the district semifinal game against Centralia on Thursday night.
Centralia gave everything they had and had an opportunity to tie it up, but senior guard Guy Moran's 3-point attempt hit the rim and bounced out. Palmyra junior guard Aaron Stamper was fouled after grabbing the rebound and drained to free throws to secure a 53-48 victory.
