Charles H. Dixon, 82, of Lebanon, passed away Oct. 25, 2018.

A memorial graveside service and burial with full military rites will be held at a later date at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Charles was born Sept. 3, 1936, in Hannibal to Herbert W. and Helen V. Pleasant Dixon.

He was raised in Hannibal and graduated from Hannibal High School in 1956. After graduation, he entered the United States Army on July 23, 1956, and served until his honorable discharge on July 14, 1959.
On May 13, 1961, he was united in marriage to Jacquelyn A. (Jackie) Spangler, and she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Steven Dixon of Santa Fe, N.M.; his sister-in-law, Pat Schneider of Hannibal; his nephew, Bill Schneider of Hannibal; and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Charles was employed with Northwest Electric Power Coop. until his retirement. Later, he was employed with the Missouri Conservation Department. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Hannibal.

While living in Hannibal, he was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. When he and Jackie moved to the Bennett Springs area in 2010, he became a member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lebanon.
Charles was a true outdoorsman. He loved fly fishing and was a member of Trout Unlimited and also Ducks Unlimited.
