  • One-vehicle accident sends Hannibal teen to hospital

  • A one-vehicle accident at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, sent a 15-year-old Hannibal youth by Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., by Air Evac.
    The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that the driver of 1998 Ford Ranger, Trevor J. Ryan, 17, of New London, was heading east on Silvers Lane, .1 mile east of Route O, and lost control while making a turn. The vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
    Devin L. Harrell, 15, of Hannibal, an occupant in the vehicle, was transported via Air Evac. The patrol reported he had moderate injuries.
    Two other passengers, Karysa Rhodes, 15, of Hannibal, and Brittany R. Ryan, 11, of New London, refused treatment at the scene, according to the patrol report.
    The three vehicle occupants were wearing safety devices.
    The Ford Ranger was totaled, and was towed by Heartland Towing. Assisting at the scene were the Ralls County Ambulance, Hannibal Rural Fire, Ralls County Sheriff’s Department, Marion County Ambulance and the Hannibal Fire Department.
