  • Donna Voepel, 45, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away at 5:36 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

  • Donna Voepel, 45, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away at 5:36 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Mo. 
    Funeral services will be at noon Monday, July 28, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hannibal. Pastor Mark Albee will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. 
    The James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.
    Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hannibal.
    Mrs. Voepel was born September 9, 1968, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Gary Kassebaum and Barbara Allen Hockett.
    She was married to Rev. Jeffrey Voepel on July 22, 2000. He survives.
    Other survivors include her father, Gary Kassebaum (Bobbie) of Edgar Springs, Mo.; her mother, Barbara Hockett (Claude) of High Ridge, Mo.; five children, Samantha Voepel, Brooke Rodgers (Steven), Courtney Voepel, Jessica Voepel and Rebekah Voepel; one brother, Curt Kassebaum (Beth) of Stanton, Mo.; two grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Rodgers and Emma Jean Rodgers; her life-long friend, Dawn Mathes; and several cousins.
    She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Allen; and one aunt, June Allen.
    Mrs. Voepel worked as a coordinator for F.A.C.T.  She was an advocate for foster children and enjoyed being a foster parent over the years and fostered many kids. Donna loved couponing, shopping and taking trips. She also enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Donna was active with young girls in Bible groups at her church and in her community. She loved spending time with her family and her granddaughters. She was a member of Emerson Baptist Church.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Voepel Girls College Fund, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Steven Rodgers, Curt Kassebaum, Scott Meyer, Ronnie Meyer, Daron Caswell and Richard Allen.
