Darlene Louise Anderson, 76, of Ormond Beach, Fla., who retired in 1989 after a 25-year career with the Social Security Administration, died Feb. 25, 2014.
Darlene Louise Anderson, 76, of Ormond Beach, Fla., who retired in 1989 after a 25-year career with the Social Security Administration, died Feb. 25, 2014. Mrs. Anderson, a native of Hannibal, Missouri, received the Commissioner’s Citation from the United States Department of Health, Education, and Welfare for her exceptional career service while with the Social Security Administration.
From a young age, Mrs. Anderson had always been interested in a career of service to others. Before her passing, Mrs. Anderson had been volunteering her time at the Halifax Humane Society Thrift Store in Ormond Beach, Florida. Her membership included First Presbyterian Church of Daytona Beach, Florida. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Cody.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Warren; four sons, Jay Jolley, Ormond Beach, Florida, Mark Anderson, Fayetteville, North Carolina, Derrick Anderson, Wade, North Carolina, and Brian Anderson, Daytona Beach, Florida; a brother, Terry Taylor, Hannibal, Missouri; five granddaughters; two nephews, Chad Taylor and Wade Taylor, Hannibal, Missouri; and other numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins across the United States.
A Celebration of Life service was held on Feb. 28, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church, Daytona Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Anderson’s final resting place will be at the Grand View Burial Park, Hannibal, Missouri, with a graveside interment ceremony to be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 11 a.m., Tim Goodman, minister of Clover Road Christian Church, officiating.
