  • Alan "Peaches" Higgins Waelder, 54, of New London, died at 5:18 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Elena Kroeger and Pastor Steve Youngblood will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal.
    Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
    Mr. Waelder was born December 24, 1959, in Hannibal to Jack Higgins and Janet Nesbitt Waelder.
    He was married to Carolyn L. Travis on May 31, 2008, in New London, Mo. She survives.
    Other survivors include his son, Clayton Waelder of New London; his dad, Dean Waelder of Hannibal; his stepchildren, Ryan Serandos of Palmyra, Mo., and Micha Friedank of New London; his brothers, David Waelder (Kim) of New London, Deanie Waelder (Krista) of Hannibal, and Jack Higgins, Jr., (Angie) of Quincy, Ill.; his sister, Lisa Waelder Lefort of Hannibal, his stepgrandchildren, Katelyn Serandos, Taven Serandos and Ellie Serandos; and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Waelder; his father, Jack Higgins; and the mother of his son Clayton, Dana Poage.
    He worked at Chester Bross Construction for last nine years, most recently as an Inventory Manager. He graduated from Hannibal High School. He loved spending time with his family, helping his son Clayton with Motocross, hunting and fishing, going camping, and cherished mercilessly tormenting his nieces and nephews.
    Memorial contributions may be made to The River Church in Hannibal.
    Pallbearers will be David Waelder, Deanie Waelder, Jack Higgins, Jr., Jeremiah Waelder, Josh Waelder, Dan Abbott and Clayton Waelder.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Waelder, Noelle Waelder, Wyatt Waelder, Willa Waelder, Hayden Rice, Jacoby Lefort, Jannell Abbott, and his great-nieces and nephews.
