  • Bill and Carrie Jane (Bryan) Beaver will celebrate 50 years of marriage on June 21 with a party from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Monroe City First Baptist Church.
The party is being hosted by their children.
The couple met at a consolidated eighth grade graduation at Andrew Chapel Church and became high school sweethearts.
They were married June 21, 1964, at Warren Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Bridget officiating.
Their marriage was blessed with two children, William Eric Beaver and Aaron Thomas Beaver, and six grandchildren.
Bill is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl Beaver and Carrie Jane is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Bloodgood.
Sandra Freidank, sister of the bride, stood as the Matron of Honor.  Bridesmaids included Joan Gloscock, Mary Ellen Evans, Linda Gottman and Rosemary Neaterour.  Janita Bloodgood stood as a junior bridesmaid.
Richard Foster, friend of the groom, stood as the best man.  Groomsmen included Carl Beaver, Bill Freidank, Terry Jackson and Bobby Hufford.
David Kuhlman and Rebecca Foreman sang for the occasion with Mrs. Johnbyrd at the piano.
They are currently retired and reside in Hunnewell.
The couple is active at Monroe City First Baptist Church, where Bill serves as a deacon.
The couple has maintained a “date night,” throughout their marriage, where they frequent the movie theater and enjoy popcorn.
The couple invites friends and family to join them during their celebration and request no gifts.
