  • Richard Paul Kessenich, age 85, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was born in Waunakee, Wisconsin, on June 29, 1928. He worked the majority of his life for Pet, Inc., from which he retired after 40 years. Richard worked very hard all his life to give his wife and children whatever he could. He taught his children a good work ethic and honesty.

He taught his children a good work ethic and honesty.
    Janis Ann (Achtenberg) Kessenich passed away on Friday morning, May 30, 2014. She was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, on October 2, 1929. She worked most of her life raising six children along with most the neighborhood kids. She was an avid gardener and creative artist. She taught her children it is never too late to learn.
    They lived in Michigan for the past 25 years near Derby Lake in Sidney. They were married in October of 1949 in a small, intimate ceremony in Middleton, Wisconsin, their hometown at the time.
    They will be forever missed by their children, James (Maille) Kessenich, Julie (Bobby) Boggs, Jill Snyder, Joy (Tom Sauber) Kessenich, Jackie (Derrick) Gensler, and Jeremy (Sarah de Guia) Kessenich; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    There were private family memorial Masses for Richard and Janis.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Stroke Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, or the National Parkinson's Foundation.
