  • Dennis M. Fishbeck, 69, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.

  • Dennis M. Fishbeck, 69, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away at 10:05 p.m.  Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.
    A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, Mo. Father Mike Quinn and Father Lou Dorn will officiate. Burial with full military rites will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.  
    Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
    Mr. Fishbeck was born July 5, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo., to Michael James and Dorothy Jean O'Dell Fishbeck Jr.
    He was married to Helen Homeister on February 14, 1976, in St. Louis, Mo.  She survives.
    Other survivors include seven children, Raymond Fishbeck, Danny Fishbeck, Christine Griffin, Matthew St. Andrews, Michael Fishbeck, Johnathan Fishbeck and Terry Fishbeck; three brothers, Ronald Fishbeck of St. Louis, Mo., Thomas Fishbeck of Alabama and Patrick Fishbeck of O'Fallon, Mo.; five sisters, Margaret Wilson of St. Louis, Mo., Judith Fox of Farmington, Mo., Tina Fishbeck of Bellflower, Mo., Mary Penrod of Farmington, Mo., and Jackie Koenig of Wentzville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Ava St. Andrews, Cory Hills, Abigail Fishbeck, Ricky Fishbeck, Sarala Buckman and Keith Buckman; three great-grandchildren, Ava Nicole Fishbeck, Aiden Fishbeck, and Serenity Fishbeck; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two brothers, John Fishbeck and Richard Fishbeck; and two brothers-in-law, Chuck Wilson and Rick Fox.
    Mr. Fishbeck was a United States Army veteran. He was a S.A.T.O.P. coordinator and also worked as a  C.S.A.C. II. Dennis enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Hannibal Pirate football. He loved all sports. He was very interested in music and was a talented musician. Dennis played in the choir at Holy Family Church for over 30 years. He was also instrumental in starting musical accompaniment at the children's masses for Holy Family School many years ago. He was known as "Papa Fish" on KHBL Radio. Dennis was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Holy Family Catholic School or to the Family, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Robert Fishbeck, James Laurensen, Ron Elliott, Rex Boeddeker, Justin St. John and Austin Wilson.
