Marion County prosecuting attorney, David N. Clayton, reports that Dustin Dye has been arrested as a suspect in the “Baby Nora” assault case, which was reported last week in Hannibal.

The Hannibal Police Department reported Dye, 29, of Hannibal, was arrested at 9:13 p.m. Saturday, June 7, in connection with the child assault case that occurred on June 3 and was reported June 6.

Officers said Dye was arrested in Hannibal at a family member’s home without incident.

The police previously reported that on June 3, the HPD was called to Hannibal Regional Hospital for a report of possible child abuse.

Officers determined the victim, a 7-week-old infant, had injuries consistent with possible abuse. Due to the severity of the infants’ injuries, the child was transferred to a hospital in the St. Louis area.

Clayton said that Dye has been charged with two counts of assault and is being held on $250,000, cash-only bond.
