  • The members of Cub Scout Pack 101 in Hannibal are busy all year doing community service projects and learning from professionals.
One project was a way to help the POPS Club, which holds their charter and is involved in the boys’ activities.
This was a trash cleanup on April 26 on U.S. 61 South. The Scouts cleaned the area adopted by the POPS Club. Cub Scouts participating were James Simms, Louis Perfetto, Luke Kistler, Noah Lawson and Nicholas Lawson.
In March the Scouts learned about water erosion from Conservation Department officer Chris Cox.
After the Conservation Department donated several trees to the Scout Pack, they were planted on May 6 by the POPS Club.
The Scouts in Pack 101 joined Pack 117 to compete in the Hannibal Pinewood Derby on March 29 at First Christian Church.
Louis Perfetto of Pack 101 was the overall winner of the derby, with 18 wins and no losses.
On April 26, Noah Lawson of Pack 101 was overall winner at the District Pinewood Derby at the high school.
Members of Pack 101 also had a project for foster children, collecting clothes, toys, books, lunch boxes and backpacks. On April 8 these items were donated to White Oak Counseling to be distributed to foster children.
Scouts from other packs are invited to join Pack 101 to participate in Hannibal’s Fourth of July parade. Pack 101 and the POPS Club will participate together. Anyone interested in joining Pack 101 in the parade is requested to call Matt at 573-406-3315.
