For the last few years, Hannibal Regional Healthcare System has hosted a Ladies Night Out mammogram clinic in observance of Mother’s Day. This year, the concept expanded to include the whole spectrum of women’s health.
“Women are busy, said Gloria Barber, director of Medical Imaging for HRH, and coordinator of Tuesday’s Women’s Health Fair. “They take care of their families, their house and their jobs. This is a reminder to them to take care of themselves.”
Booths were manned by professionals in various departments throughout the hospital. Topics included diabetes care, blood pressure checks, smoking cessation information, stress management, and healthy cooking tips.
As a special feature, mini massages were offered to women in attendance.
“It’s important that we help educate our fellow citizens about what services we have available and to help them with their health,” said Dr. Schuyler Metlis, a board certified plastic surgeon at HRH
