  • Edith L. Walden Adams, 100, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 12:40 p.m.  Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.
    Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Pastor Tom Day will officiate. 
    The James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.
    There will be no visitation.
    Mrs. Adams was born July 8, 1913, in Hannibal, Mo., to Theodore and Mary Katherine Smith Hess.
    Mrs. Adams was married to Glenn Wesley Walden in 1936. After they divorced she later married Harry D. "Duff" Adams, and he preceded her in death in 1990.  
    Survivors include two sons, Richard Walden (Linda) of Muscatine, Iowa, and James A. Walden (Gina) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; nine grandchildren, Trisha M. Shoemate, Richie Walden, Janet Walden, Michelle Walden, Dawn Marie Walden, Brian Walden, Matt Walden, Rob Walden and Jeff Walden; and numerous great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by one son, Howard Lee Walden; one daughter, Delores Mary Calhoun; two brothers, Richard Hess and Kenneth Hess; and one stepson, Harry J. Adams.
    Mrs. Adams worked at St. Elizabeth's Hospital and retired as a nurse's assistant. She loved to travel and enjoyed visiting Nashville and anywhere there was country music. Mrs. Adams loved her pet dog, Domino. She also enjoyed doing latch hook rugs and loved to go on walks. Mrs. Adams was a Baptist by faith and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Meals On Wheels, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
