  • Cecile Gertrude (Trudy) Nelson Boltinghouse, 92, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 5:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, at Gospel Lighthouse Church in Hannibal. Rev. Michael Miller will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal.
    Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Mrs. Boltinghouse was born July 19, 1921, in Hannibal, MO to Benjamin F. and Ella C. (Peeler) Nelson.
    She was married to Harold W. Boltinghouse Sr. on May 11, 1947, in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death November 1, 2013.
    Survivors include 3 sons, Harold W. Boltinghouse Jr., Stephen R. Boltinghouse and wife Tina and Timothy D. Boltinghouse Sr. and wife Celina, all of Hannibal, MO; a special niece, Patricia Groves of Grafton, Illinois; 9 grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; 4 brothers, Aaron T. Nelson, George A. Nelson, Anthony (Tony) M. Nelson and Ernest (Red) L. Nelson; 1 sister, Iva L. Godfrey; 2 nephews, Earnest L. Nelson Jr., and Robert E. Nelson; and 1 granddaughter; Dawn Maria Boltinghouse.
    Mrs. Boltinghouse attended Central School in Hannibal. She worked as a beautician from 1943 to 1946. After her children started school, she worked several places in Hannibal including Western Publishing, Rival and Watlow, where she retired in 1986. Mrs. Boltinghouse was a member of the Salvation Army for many years, where she enjoyed playing the organ and piano and singing. She was a longtime St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. She also enjoyed working word search puzzles. At the time of her death, she was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Harold W. Boltinghouse Jr., Stephen R. Boltinghouse, Paul W. Boltinghouse, Anthony Fries, Carl Wayne Nelson, and Seth Nelson.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy D. Boltinghouse Sr., Harold William Boltinghouse III, Christopher R. Boltinghouse, Andrew Scott Boltinghouse and Timothy D. Boltinghouse, Jr.
