  • Robert H. Moyers, 82, of Monroe City, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Monroe City Manor Nursing Home, Monroe City, Missouri.

  • Robert H. Moyers, 82, of Monroe City, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Monroe City Manor Nursing Home, Monroe City, Missouri.
    He was born July 17, 1931, in Ralls County, Missouri, the son of Maurice and Claire Schnipes Moyers.
    He worked as a truck driver at O'Loughlin Quarry for 30 years. He graduated from Hunnewell High School, Hunnewell, Missouri. He enjoyed working with wood, making things.
    He married Mary Jean Goodwin, February 8, 1964, and she survives of the home.
    Also surviving are one son, John Moyers, Monroe City, Missouri; one daughter, Ann Moyers, Hannibal, Missouri; three brothers, Bud Moyers (Willadean), New Albany, Indiana; James (Toby) Moyers (Brenda), Scott City, Missouri; and Bill Douglas (Diane) Bridgeport Washington; five sisters, Petty Lanza, New Hartford, Connecticut; Lucille (Cindy) Moyers, Quincy, Illinois; Beatrice (Cissy) Miller, Quincy, Illinois; Dot Miller, Fort Madison, Iowa; and Carolyn Yates (Nick), High Ridge, Missouri.
    Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Peg Paulas and Kathleen Moyers.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri. Rev. Steve Goughnour will officiate. Burial will be at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Monroe City, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City, Missouri.
    Pallbearers will be Tom Hagan, Mark Hagan, Jeff Miller, Mark Miller, Randy O'Laughlin and Mike Moyers.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Charles O'Laughlin, Bob Allison, Phillip Whelan, Kenny Sinclair, Bill Goodwin, Joe Goodwin and Jon Bried.
    Memorials have been suggested to the Monroe City VFW Post 4240 or donor’s choice.
    Garner Funeral Home and Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
