  • Joyce M. Walker, 80, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 3:01 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at her home.
    A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, Mo. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park. Father Mike Quinn will officiate.
    Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, Mo.
    Mrs. Walker was born on November 21, 1933, in Hannibal, Mo., to Jesse S. and Letha D. Howell Swearingen.
    She was married to John H. “Jack” Walker on May 10, 1952, in Hannibal, Mo. He survives.
    Also surviving are four children, Christina M. Dillingham (Robert Dudak) of St. Louis, Mo., Cynthia L. Quinlin (David) of Hannibal, Mo., Daniel P. Walker (Michelle) of Bryan, Texas, and Edward P. Walker of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Ashley Shepherd (Richard), Katherine Haug (F. August), Andrew Quinlin, Audrey Lee (Aron), Dillon Walker, Hart Walker and Haley Walker; three great-grandchildren, Reid Shepherd, Layla Shepherd and Paige Haug; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Kearns, Carol Buck (Brian) and Martha Swearingen; and one daughter-in-law, Rita Walker.
    Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her son, John H. Walker III; her grandson, Kyle Walker; and her brother, Darrell Swearingen.
    Mrs. Walker was a homemaker. In her younger years she previously worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She loved her cats and enjoyed collecting antiques. Most of all she liked to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Walker was also very talented at needlework and created many gorgeous pieces. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
    Pallbearers will be Mrs. Walker’s grandchildren.
    Honorary pallbearers will be David Quinlin, Robert Dudak, Richard Shepherd, F. August Haug, Aron Lee, Joseph Valbracht and Paul Richards.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society, in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
