  • Graveside services for Horace Lamar Berry, 86, of Center, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014, at DeMoss Cemetery, rural Monroe City, with Reverend Dan Peters officiating. No visitation is planned. Services are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home, Center.

  • Graveside services for Horace Lamar Berry, 86, of Center, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014, at DeMoss Cemetery, rural Monroe City, with Reverend Dan Peters officiating. No visitation is planned. Services are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home, Center.
    Mr. Berry passed away on March 20, 2014, at his home.
    He was born March 19, 1928, in Hannibal, the son of Robert and Georgia Ann Heckart Berry.
    He was married to Mary Kathryn Cowden on August 29, 1950, in Hannibal and she survives.
    Other survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Sue Fuqua of Carterville, Ill., and Wanda Lynn Johnson of Spokane, Washington; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
    Mr. Berry was a lifetime area resident and member of Ariel Christian Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 and attained the rank of PFC. He worked as a truck driver for over 44 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed truck driving.
    Pallbearers will be Ryan Fuqua, Vincent Fuqua, Cory Fuqua, Doug Fuqua, and James Roy Fuqua.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Ariel Christian Church.
