  • Dorothy O. Pflantz, 85, formerly of Quincy and West Ely, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the Monroe City Manor Care Center. Dorothy was born June 16, 1928, in Pevely, Missouri, to William Casper Adam and Olga Sophia Catherine Gieselman Jeude. Dorothy was married to Norman L. Pflantz August 23, 1952, in Barnhart, Missouri.He preceded her in death December 26, 1997.
    Survivors include her children: Carolyn (Gary) Cramlett of Quincy; Janis (Rick) Bourgeois of Hoyleton, IL; Richard Pflantz of Palmyra, and Steven (Melissa) Pflantz of St. Louis; grandchildren: Amy (Adam) Buss, Curtis Cramlett, Ryan (Jaymee) Kees, Morgan Pflantz, Alicia (Tommy) Rhode, Nathan Pflantz and Thanuel Pflantz; step grandchildren: Aimee Bourgeois and Chase Bourgeois; great grandchildren: Caleb and Addison Buss, Lilly Cramlett, Teigan Kees and Tyler Rhode; step great grandchildren: Sophia and Gavin Lamczyk; siblings, Alveda (William) Ehrlich of Arnold, Mo., Bernice Feldkamp of Pevely, Mo., William (Elaine) Jeude of Pevely; Lucille (Donald) Luebke of Warrenton, Mo., Alfred (Sue) Jeude of Barnhart, Mo., Betty (Joseph) Floyd of Monroe City and Janet (Vince) Howard of Charlotte, NC; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister and brother in law, Mary and Ervin Kassel; and brother in law, Rayford Feldkamp.
    Mrs. Pflantz was a graduate of Herculaneum, Missouri High School. She was a devoted homemaker and farm wife. Also, She worked in floral care and design at Michael’s Florist in Monroe City, Missouri.
    She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Quincy and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Ely, Missouri. She served as a church organist in Barnhart, Mo. and both Sunday school teacher and organist at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Dorothy enjoyed her hobbies including needle work and gardening.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Ely. Rev. Kenneth Schamber will officiate. Burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to The Lutheran Hour and/or Immanuel Lutheran Church and/or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
