  • Donald "Chub" L. Brawley, 79, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 2:58 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo. 
     Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55 will be at Grand View Burial Park.  
    Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
    Mr. Brawley was born July 11, 1934, in Higbee, Mo., to Harvey and Addie Perkins Brawley.
    He was married to Marilyn Schutze on January 31, 1959, in Auxvasse, Mo. She survives.
    Other survivors include two sons, Donnie Brawley (Carrie) of Hannibal, Mo., and Doug Brawley (Stephanie) of Hannibal, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Doug Brawley Jr., Emily Brawley, Tyler Tomlinson,  Brett Brawley, Shelby Flowers, Hannah Flowers and Jake Flowers; three great-grandchildren, Braedyn, Alasca, and Ella;  and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Vearl Brawley, Eugene Brawley and Robert Brawley; one sister, Juanita Wright; and one grandson, Caleb Brawley.
    Mr. Brawley was a United States Army veteran, having served his country in the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver. Mr. Brawley enjoyed playing softball and fishing in his younger years. He also liked visiting Florida with his wife in his retirement and he loved his dogs. Mr. Brawley was a Baptist by faith.
    Pallbearers will be Mike Wright, Kevin Peck, Steve "Bucky" Vessell, Brett Brawley, Randy Trenkamp and Jimmy Shinn.
    Honorary pallbearer will be Delbert Griffin.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
